I’m about to head up to Minneapolis, Minnesota, for some training of the next few weeks and months so I finally to the plunge into the “blogosphere,” which is something I’ve been thinking about doing for some time. This will be a good way to give everyone I know back in Birmingham a glimpse of what winter (and summer) is like 1000 miles north. The name of my blog, North by Northwest, comes from the classic movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock (see DVD cover below) and the fact that it looks like I will be flying north to MN on Northwest Airlines most of the time. It seemed fitting enough to me. In fact, I leave tomorrow (Sunday, January 19th) for the first set of classes and should be back next Wednesday, the 30th. I still have some fixing up to do, but I wanted to go ahead and get it up and running today before I leave.

Hi, Kev,
Way to go! Love those pics from the huge snow STORM!!! You can post some more of them from MN, eh? We will be missing you on Tue nights but hope to see you on Feb. 3rd!! You don’t have to bother bringing us any white samples from MN either! Photos will be just fine. See ya.
Kevin,
Have a good trip. We’ll be praying for you every day.

Looking forward to seeing more snow than usual. Saturday I went to Oregon and I saw snow up to probably 8inch. Didn’t take any pix because it was night. Looking forward to going back. Be prepared as it gets cold. Welcome to the ‘sphere’ Can’t wait to peruse what MN has to offer.
Very fitting, Kevin! We want to see snow pictures soon. How was your flight?
Hi, Kevin,
We watched the Giants and Green Bay game as they played in -4 degrees and thought about you A LOT! Ha It was a brutal day and was easy to understand why they made so many mistakes. Still can’t believe the fans weathered the game! Hope you will get to watch the Super Bowl or will you be flying that day? We’ll be remembering you tonight. . .sorry you will not be here for roast pork and Apple Pie! Ha Take care. See you soon.
Glad you have the blog. Funny, we had that little bit of snow before you headed out to the BIG snow! I made a small snowman and put it on my mailbox. I’ll send you a picture later. Your rabbit reminded me. Your yard snowman looks like a chocolate chip man! KOOL!
Hope you have a great training session. Keep us informed and drive safely.
